(Oakville, ON) March 30, 2020 – Oakville Hydro reports that during Earth Hour, Oakville used 8.6 MW or 5.1% less than the same time in 2019. This is the equivalent of turning off approximately 573,000 LED light bulbs for one hour.
“Sustainability is one of our guiding principles and Earth Hour supports our continuous efforts and commitment towards making Oakville a green community,” said Rob Lister, President and CEO of Oakville Hydro. “Once again, I’m proud of Oakville’s participation in this event, as well as the daily dedication to reduce energy consumption.”
