(Oakville, ON) July 18, 2018 – Oakville Hydro Electricity Distribution Inc. (“Oakville Hydro”) is pleased to announce it has achieved 76% of its 92 GWh energy savings target, which was recently reported by the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO). This was achieved in the first half of the six-year province-led Conservation First Framework which ends December 31, 2020.

“We are extremely proud of the results to promote conservation in our community,” said Mary Caputi, Chief Conservation Officer at Oakville Hydro.  “We thank our customers who participate in the program and have embraced energy conservation.  In addition, we thank our dedicated team and partners, who have helped us achieve these great results.”

Under the IESO’s Conservation First Framework, Ontario local distribution companies are required to promote conservation and energy efficiency to customers through various residential, commercial and industrial programs, and offer financial incentives to eligible customers who participate.  For more information on Save on Energy programs, visit www.saveonenergy.ca or www.oakvillehydro.com.
