Oakville Hydro Receives Environmental Excellence Award

(Oakville, ON) March 29, 2019 – Oakville Hydro is proud to announce that it received the 2018 Environmental Excellence Award from the Electricity Distributors Association (EDA), recognizing the organization’s outstanding efforts in striving to protect and improve the environment.

“Sustainability is Oakville Hydro’s guiding principle, and we strive each day to make environmentally conscious decisions that will benefit our customers,” said Rob Lister, President and CEO of Oakville Hydro. “Oakville Hydro has reduced its carbon footprint by a total of 82 metric tonnes per year and helped reduce the carbon footprint of its customers by 677 metrics tonnes per year. It is an honour to have those achievements recognized by the EDA.”

The Environmental Excellence Award is presented to a local electricity distribution company that has distinguished itself among its peers in the area of sustainability, and criteria includes environmental benefits, stewardship, economic benefit and innovation.
