(Oakville, ON) April 2, 2025 – Oakville Hydro has launched the EcoShift app, an innovative digital tool designed to help residents and small businesses transition to sustainable energy solutions. Building on the success of the Oakville Hydro Mobile App, launched in 2024, the EcoShift app enhances Oakville Hydro’s digital offerings by providing users with personalized insights into sustainable energy options. The EcoShift app not only allows you to assess tailored energy solutions, but also sends real-time alerts for unusual consumption, offers a platform for sustainability discussions, keeps users informed about government incentives and rewards eco-friendly actions. This initiative is supported by the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) through the Innovation Sandbox Challenge, designed to foster innovation within the energy sector.

“We believe the EcoShift App will empower customers to make more informed decisions about their energy use and accelerate the adoption of sustainable technologies,” said Jeff Mocha, Chief Operations and Electrification Officer at Oakville Hydro. “Together, these innovative digital tools help create a more connected, energy-efficient and sustainable Oakville, in line with our purpose of Connecting Communities Through Sustainable Solutions.”

In 2024, Oakville Hydro introduced the Oakville Hydro Mobile App, offering customers an easy and convenient way to manage their energy needs. The app allows customers to track energy usage, make payments, sign up for text alerts on outages, compare pricing plans and enroll for paperless billing, providing residents and businesses with greater control over their energy consumption.
